woops forgot the earrings!

Polymer clay olive tutorial

I'm having a great time with these little gems! In the spirit of sharing I wrote this tutorial!

roll a ball of olive colored clay, exact size of a real olive is perfect. I then use a knitting needle to hollow out the center of the olive ball. Make sure it's big enough you can always squeeze it ssmaller around the squared off piece of bright red clay which will be your pimento. If it's too long just slice it off. Don't forget to turn it around and put the little X on the bottom. Pirece it for using in a necklace or earrings....done!!! Enjoy! Give them as a gift and sign- 'Olive U!!'

my pot melt

Something relatively new to me. I've tried this technique in glass fusing called pot melt. Bringing glass to liquid state at a temperature of 1700 degrees to have it ooze onto a clay pot beneath it. As it moves from one to the other it creates it's own pattern. They're like fingerprints, no two alike. I have created a grid of brass wire to stack my glass on and ultimately have it fall through....didn't work! Seems the brass weakens and falls into the glass. My bud smokeylady54 on etsy, a fellow glass worker and super swell person, suggested her lampwork mandrels as a base for the grid. That worked, here's my pot melt, now, what to do with it, how to cut it, grind it, make it into a finished piece is the question.

zoeowyn

Meeting nice people is what makes me most happy about the internet. Zoeowyn.etsy.com has volunteered along with lots of fine people from the PCAGOE,polymer clay artist guild of etsy, to be involved in a bead swap. She made this lovely mermaid with the swily beads I sent to her for the bead challenge. I'm so thrilled you used them so quickly. When I get all mine I'll post pictures of all of them. She also mmade a set for me wait till you see them!

I just bought this ring!

...and I just love it. Recycling is a concern of mine and I just love to use something to create anoteh use for it,okay...especially jewelry!
I found her on the recycle blog and bought this. Silverware has the most beautiful patterns and it lays beautifully on my finger!

another wedding promotion

It's not new to me. I've done recycling from bottle before but I'm promoting them in a wedding sense. A lovely memory from ones wedding day! I have etched a flower in this one with a crystal center in it. Leather cords ending in a heart and arrow toggle clasp. I love the olive color but blue and clear look terrific too.Later!
