making of the bead

I very simply take a small portion of scrap clay and form the bead. By wrapping a thin slice of the rind cane, smoothing and wrapping a slice of the flesh cane on the other side, I create a watermelon bead. From there I shape the bead and play!

and the rind

The process is basically the same as the red part of the watermelon .....

This are some pictures of the making of my watermelon cane. Sorry they're not in order but look at the lower listing first then come back....computer ignorance!!! I will have the canes for sale in my etsy store shortly. Enjoy the tutorial!

Tonight we had a double rainbow and I'm lucky enough to have a great view of it across the street. It was actually much brighter in person but you can tell how beautiful it was!!

Smokeylady

A wonderful friend and equally as wonderful glass worker.
She's a lampwork beadmaker and takes pendants from many of us on glassanarchy and the cgge and turns them into beautifully beaded necklaces by custom making complimentary beads and incorporating them into her treasures. This combines her beading talents along with her love of making beads.
She has her hands full with her husband and pets at home but thankfully makes time for us here on the internet with her much welcomed sense of humor!

My deck

Half done in this picture. I completed it yesterday when My computer took a crap and was in the shop for a good deal of the day. That's when I'm forced to do house work! Sad!
That's our dog buva getting in a picture!

I love a rainbow!

Just about an hour ago I took a picture of this one!! They're so special and rare! It wasn't a real big one but itsure was beautiful. I always wait to see them then call the kids out of the house to see it with me. I wonder if they'll do that with their kids?
