The month of February brings the challenge with the them of animals. This is my entry. I chose a rabbit I made a while back. I did rework it a bit. I'll let you know here when all will be posted and voted on. The winner wins a prize pack from the pcagoe.

I like it. Not sure of how much of it I'd like to do but it's great for using these lovely postage stamps in pieces of jewelry.

polymer clay

The most fascinating aspect of polymer clay is the many ways one can use it. I never tire of watching other artists ideas and interpretations of using this sticky stuff called polymer clay. Here are some neat things I found on etsy. The switchplate is by mosaico, the ladbug by stormy designs and the combination of glass and clay by clayspirits.

The heart pin on the left was made by diasyflores, a fellow member of the cgge. I love tht pin and have been inspired to try my hand at soldering small jewelry pieces. My first project is these earring charms. I feel good about my first project. Now to try to solder more 1 piece together. I'll let you know! Wish me luck!

I made the glass keyboard a while back and they sat in my shop until Christmas. Seemed they were a popular item for music teacher gifts. I made more and decided to try them also in polymer clay. I reallylike them both. Do you have a favorite?

easter is next!

I like to make seasonal items. Now That Valentine's is over, Thank God! Now I can concentrate on one of my favorite holidays, Easter. It's a good one for me, not a lot of overtime hours at work and Easter is the single most meaningful holiday for any of us who believe. The egg symbolizes life. God sent his Son to earth to eventually sacrifice His life so we all can have eternal life. So paint some eggs, or make polymer clay eggs, with your children and share the story of Easter.
Here are my new eggs for this season. More colors to come.

I am loved!!!

My daughter made me cupcakes and arranged them on the counter for me to find when I came home from work tonight. Isn't she a sweetie!!!

It's Valentine's Day and I bought this rose for my daughter. Dyes are injected into the rose for the multi colors reflected in the petals. Very ingenious!!

Look at this fabulous stained glass panel. Made by petsinglass on etsy this talented artist will take a picture of your pet and turn it into a piece of art to treasure forever. Smokey is a good friends dog and the window is a gift to her husband. Do you feel the love?
Smokey's life didn't look very promising when he first started out. He was owned by someone who didn't treat him very well. Then he was adopted by a very loving family in Illinois. It took a while for Smokey to understand that humans, as a whole, are basically very nice. He now has a good life, with a family that adores him. Smokey is enjoying his "senior" years a much loved member of his adopted family.
